INFORMATION CONCERNING SOFTWARE VERIFICATION SERVICES
A software developer starts by comparing their software to the results provided in CSA F280-12 for 4 different archetype houses. There are a total of 48 separate tests or files that have to be run for the full room by room verification, and a few less if the developer is only seeking whole house or block load verification. The reporting requirements of the F280-12 Standard will also need to be verified as conforming to the Standard. Once the software developer is confident that their software is compliant, they may engage HVAC DC to do a formal third-party verification. Once the software is deemed compliant, the software developer will receive confirmation that their software has been verified and they will be permitted to use the HVAC DC Verified logo and compliance statement in their advertising materials as well as in output reports from their software. The developers’ software will also be listed on HVAC DC’s Verified Software website. There is a fee for the verification process.
